One of
the Caribbean's best kept secrets is just how perfect
Bequia can be in the summer months between May and
November - especially when there are bargains to be
had!
These long lazy days also coincide with the so-called rainy season, but in reality the showers - when they come - are usually short-lived, and the sun never disappears for long. The possibility of a tropical storm increases in September and October, but Bequia is far enough south for these rarely to trouble. This
is the time of year when Bequia is at its most
peaceful and beautiful, with lush green hillsides,
glorious flamboyant trees in brilliant red bloom,
and everywhere oleander, hibiscus and bougainvillea
bursting with colour. The sea is calm, the island is
quiet and time passes deliciously slowly... Special
